Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Chris Hennessy has been living and working in Northern California as an independent filmmaker, video producer, author, motivational speaker and professional storyteller since 1990.

Chris learned lightning-fast, ad-lib comedy and charismatic entertaining by watching his NYCPD father in action. Even though his dad never performed on stage, Chris insists that he was as funny and well-spoken as the best professional comics and actors of his time.

Chris was a High School All-American Track & Field Athlete (800 meters), and Full Scholarship athlete-graduate of Rice University, Houston, Texas. An admitted ad-lib-aholic, Chris also graduated from the San Francisco Improv Comedy College in 2009.

All Chris planned on doing was filming his first two toddlers in 1986 when he picked up a video camera for the first time. But he immediately became addicted to telling powerful stories with it. Chris quit his job as a sales & marketing rep. in 1990, and without even a film or video class under his belt, founded Custom Video Connection.

As CEO and founder - his Custom Video Connection provides a complete package of film-creation services. Chris himself can produce, write, direct, do camera, host, interview and edit an entire film project. He also consults customers on how to market and promote the films and videos he produces. His most recent clients include some pretty heavy hitters such as Google, Kaiser, Office Max, eBay, Deloitte, KGO 810am Radio San Francisco, Four Seasons Hotel, Zumba, Silver Creek Valley Country Club, The American Cancer Society and many more.

Chris has seen his movies receive several million internet views. Talk about going viral! The short trailer film he produced to support “Touched By Hannah,” won an award at the 2016 IndieFest Global film competition.

Chris’ next book, “Conquer Your Confidence.” “Ten Steps to a Confident, Successful Personal and Business life,” will be completed in late 2021.

Chris’ favorite thing to do outside work is spending quality time with his wife Betsy and daughter Hannah. He’s also addicted to performing improv comedy - and is used to leaving folks laughing and inspired wherever he goes. He runs regularly on the elliptical at In-Shape Gym and walks several miles a week with his dog, Piper. Chris enjoys coaching Hannah’s sports teams, perfecting his secret french toast and other breakfast recipes, and of course, working on his creative story-telling ventures.

Chris’ mission is to touch peoples lives by inspiring, encouraging and entertaining as many people as possible through his books, speaking engagements, and filmmaking endeavors.
