Before His Death, Bay Area Filmmaker Rushes to Tell the Story of His Life!



San Jose, CA – Diagnosedand treated at age 52 for a deadly form of prostate cancer, one of the Bay Area’s most popular filmmakers, Chris Hennessy, not only nearly died but had to confront the first of many life-threatening crises. In the same year (2009) Chris hadcancer surgery (8/3/09 @ Stanford Hospital)almost died a couple days later,and hisdaughter Hannah was born (9/1/09) three months premature (due date was 12/7/09)weighing merely one pound and nine ounces. Hannah was in the hospital for three months at the same time Chris began a three-month regimen of naueseating five-days-a-week radiation treatments.


Now occupied with the job of saving the life of his daughter as well as his own, practically overnight Chris and his wife Betsy became parents extraordinaire. How he and Hannah survived their life-threatening ordeals has become for Chris Hennessy a pivotal story that he’s determined to tell via a feature length docudrama movie.


With meticulous planning, scriptwriting, promotional video pieces produced, location scouting and other preproduction assets in the can, Chris has now taken the second major step in making his cinematic dream a reality. Commencing on May 4, 2014, Chris launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo to secure donations and funding to finance the filming of Touched by Hannah.


With close to 25 years experience as a full time filmmaker, Chris and his company Custom Video Connection recent client list includes Office Max, eBay, Deloitte, Zumba and the Four Seasons Hotel. They have produced more than 1500 professional films and seen more than four million Internet video views. Chris is now confident and ready for the main course, Touched by Hannah, his first feature length film.


Besides writing the film treatment and complete screenplay his production company has a business plan and commercial website and popular social networks in place, and are gathering thousands of Touched by Hannah followers and fans.


“In a nutshell, Touched by Hannah is an original story based upon true events that occurred in 2009. The plotline reveals my family's journey through several life-threatening experiences followed by several miracles!" Chris has written on the film’s official website.

Chris was recently interviewed for a feature story on an NBC TV News segment called “Bay Area Proud.” The piece, by longtime NBC reporter Garvin Thomas, aired on April 22, 2104, and was featured on a special recap of Bay Area Proud on May 9, 2014.


Chris was also interviewed by reporter Peter Finch of San Francisco’s most popular talk radio station, KGO, for a piece on his segment (aired May 5, 2014), “The Finch Files.”


In addition, Matthew Lesko, a bestselling author who appears regularly on network television shows did a ten minute segment on Chris and Touched by Hannah. Mr. Leasko is popularly known as "That Question Mark Guy" for the Ridder-like suits he wears. Leskoaired the story on his “Lesko Free Radio” video podcast on Sunday, May 4th, and it is being continuously viewed on their website at this time.
